Gulgong - NSW, Australia (4 works)

    Past Times

    Acrylic on Canvas
    30 x 20 cm
Gulgong is the quintessential country Australian town. The wide streets and architecture of the gold-rush period remain and the town still relies on mining for much of its prosperity. There are many 'gold nuggets' of architectural and aesthetic interest for artists and tourists alike. I have captured some of these in this new, exciting body of work.

People Series (2 works)

    The Connoisseur

    Acrylic on Paper
    53 x 33 cm
Though my recent series are dominated by edifices and architectural works, what in the world is more interesting than people? The smallest glimpse of the people around us can afford us a whole story - a story that we are free to create ourselves and then share with those around us.

Carnival Series (4 works)

    There'll be Days Like This

    Acrylic on Canvas
    32 x 46 cm
Carnival is described as riotous revelry; reckless indulgence in something, festivities… I think of fun fairs, street parades and carousels. Energy, movement and colour abound. Most cites and towns have their versions of these sorts of frivolities. I can’t wait to start painting some more of the things I have seen.

Urban Design - Melbourne, Australia (8 works)

    Melbourne By Design

    Acrylic on Canvas
    60 x 76 cm
In this series I continue to explore the abstract design qualities I see in the built environments I visit. I have been looking at contemporary architecture for a change. I see cities with fresh eyes now, a direct result of living in the Blue Mountains and gazing out on my garden and the bush as I work. I look at trees and want to paint buildings!

The Rocks - Sydney, Australia (2 works)

    Pals

    Acrylic on Canvas
    20 x 30 cm
The Rocks area of Sydney differs from Georgetown, the old part of Washington DC, in that the buildings feature carved stone decoration rather than timber detailing. Like Georgetown, buildings feature interesting colour schemes and the old glass windows produce wonderful distorted reflections. Just my cup of tea!

Manala Series (3 works)

    Mandala I

    Acrylic on Canvas
    30 x 30cm
Mandala: from Sanskrit meaning "circle". Geometric designs, often in a circle are used to build up an image. In Hinduism and Buddhism Mandalas typically represent the universe and are used as aids in meditation. In my versions, they are used to describe an urbanised and Westernised universe.

Urban Design - Washington DC, USA (4 works)

    DC Design VII

    Acrylic on Canvas
    15 x 20 cm
Washington DC positively bristles with grand public buildings. Everyone is familiar with the White House and the Lincoln Memorial. The use of light coloured stone in many of these edifices provided an interesting challenge for me as an artist. I decided to reduce one of these grand buildings down to a series of carefully edited vignettes.

Bangkok Series (8 works)

    Neighbourhood Watch

    Acrylic on Canvas
    61 x 76 cm
Bangkok is described as the Venice of the East. What a visual feast for an artist.

I took the opportunity to plan a new series of "washing" paintings as well as the chance to explore the exotic patterns created by the Thai architectural style.

    Out of Time

    Acrylic on Canvas
    30 x 30 cm
Teri's recent travels around the USA provided ample inspiration for a vairety of works.

"Most of my time was spent on the East Coast but I managed some trips further inland where I was rewarded with some real architectural treats."

    Bridge Bunting - Florence

    Acrylic on Canvas
    46 x 56 cm
Ciao bella! Romantic Italy is the setting of this series.

"Italy is truly a country full of romance and beauty. Cobbled streets and winding lanes are full of lovely details that make even the smallest town a pleasure to explore."
